Style File....

When I was younger, I used to watch Fashion File like it was my religion. I LOVED everything 90s glam fashion. I had the blunt bangs, boots and red lips.

I studied the shows. I bled Versace. We had "The Big Six." Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford, Linda Evangelista, Claudia Schiffer, Christy Turlington.

Then came Kate, Shalom, Amber, James, Audrey, and of course Esther and Karen. This was a time of fashion fantasy. A time of Galliano and McQueen. A time if liberation, and daring imagery. It was imagination in textile that resembled an acid trip. I wanted to be a part of it so bad. But, I was 15.

*sorry swooning for a moment*

I have many talents, but one of them is hunting high end garments from said era like a bloodhound. I can, like I have some kind of superpower sniff out a Valentino skirt in a heap of clothes like a detective. In fact, I have! And it's right off the runway. I am OBSESSED with all things hand made, and amazing. Because let's be real, nothing goes with a 2000's full length Vivienne Tam gown like a pair of Docs, while dripping in diamonds. Sipping on cappuccino and talking about who Leo is dating.

AmIright? Oh I so am. A kaleidoscope of luxury.

Just call me Carrie Bradshaw.

As I hunted these things, I never knew what on earth I would ever use them for. I just knew I loved them.

I mean, yeah I have a see through Valentino hand made silk skirt but honestly, where am I going in that?

Enter my 36th year around the sun. And hits me. PHOTOGRAPHY! I have massed a collection to be envied. And in 2017 I fully intend to shoot with these pieces, that I painstakingly found and have curated like I have some kind of Fashion vault.

Textile and art. I am stoked.

So buckle up friends. Be prepared for a more "edgy" side of my work. Because if Vanity fair isn't coming to me, I will bring myself to Vanity Fair.

Cheers to 2017! And boots....
